Overview

The Sorcerer is capable of dealing absolutely insane burst damage, dictating area denial, and locking down entire enemy squads with elemental crowd control. By combining Stardust and elemental spells, the Sorcerer can create easy combat combos that obliterate opponents before they can even close the gap.

Best Gear & Affixes

Go full-on burst damage or hybrid defense depending on your team's reliability.

  • Eloquence: Chanting Speed +15%. At Tier 5, your chanting cannot be interrupted by minor impacts. This is absolutely mandatory.
  • Valor: Increases raw attack damage.
  • Ranged: Increases damage based on your distance from the target.
  • Aegis: Defense +60%. Great for surviving backline dives.
  • Elusive: Dodge energy cost reduction to help maintain spacing.

Core Skill Combinations

High Burst Damage Combo

  • Stardust Tempest: A massive slowing field.
  • Gravitational Vortex: Pulls enemies in and deals huge damage. Aim to knock them back into your Tempest.
  • Meteor Charm: Your main nuke. Drop it on trapped enemies.

Crowd Control Focus

  • Swap out Meteor/Rock Blast for more consistent slows and area denial.
  • Forbidden Gate: An underrated defensive wall. Drop it to block off chokepoints, give your team a split-second to heal, or block incoming projectiles.
  • Phantom Step / Shadow Veil: Grants movement speed and invisibility. The ultimate tool for escaping dives and repositioning.

Talents

  • Chant Guard: Increases chanting speed and prevents interruption.
  • Stardust Arcana: Used to skip chanting phases. This is a massive cheese for Meteor Charm, allowing you to animation-cancel and effectively double-cast it.
  • Memorization: Increases the chanting speed for Gravitational Vortex.
  • Storm Impact: Reduces the dodge distance of enemies hit by Stardust Tempest. Extremely powerful in a dodge-heavy game.
  • No Escape: Increases the damage area of Meteor Charm.
  • Vitality Chant: Allows dodging while chanting. A massive quality-of-life upgrade for your survivability.

Tips & Tricks

  1. The God Combo: Pop your movement speed and invis (Phantom Step), reposition to a flank. Open with Vortex to pull enemies in, follow instantly with a quick-cast Rock Blast or Meteor Charm.
  2. Self-Casting for Survival: If you are being chased by an aggressive melee, cast Vortex or Meteor directly on yourself, then teleport out. The enemy will dive straight into your nuke.
  3. Wall Mechanics: Don't just use Forbidden Gate for yourself. Use it to block corridors when your teammates are retreating to heal. You can also drop a wall directly in front of an enemy, then quick-cast Meteor Charm while they are confused and trying to break it.
  4. Communicate Pulls: Whenever you land a Vortex that pulls 2+ enemies, call it out on voice comms immediately so your team can dive and wipe them in the CC window.
