Best Gear & Affixes

This build focuses heavily on increasing survivability and movement speed to keep up with agile classes like Blackarrow and Sorcerer.

Affix Breakdown:

  • Aegis: Defense +75%, Physical Resistance +2.5%. Your core defensive stat.
  • Stoic: Physical & Magic Resistance +5.5%. Restores 15% Health when dropping low.

Core Skills

You will primarily use the Sword & Shield, only swapping to the Warhammer for mobility.

Sword and Shield

  • Shield Dash: Provides incredible movement speed after use. It is your primary tool for keeping up with fast ranged classes.
  • Shield Slam: Has the incredible utility of slowing enemies on hit for a small period of time.

Warhammer

  • Hammer Dash: Used purely for added mobility in combat.

Talents

  • Sword Edge & Blade Charge: Grants Sword Tip stacks on hit to trigger your forward momentum sword hit, increasing overall main weapon damage.
  • Stacking Blade: Reduces the stacks needed to enter Blade Edge, speeding up your damage loop.
  • Rising to the Challenge: Hitting enemies with your block counter will temporarily stun them.
  • Absolute Punishment: Hitting an enemy with Shield Dash reduces its cooldown, allowing you to stay glued to ranged targets.
  • Bounce: Quickly cast Shield Slam directly out of a block.
  • Raging Earth Shake: Adds extra slow and stun effectiveness to Shield Slam.
  • Dash: Increases the distance of Hammer Dash.

Tips & Tricks

  1. The Stun Gateway: Stunning enemies is essential. Use Shield Slam to slow and stun, then don't waste any time taking advantage of that opening to unleash damage.
  2. Relentless Chase: Affixes like Seeker and Elusive are meant to punish retreating enemies. Stay aggressive and run them down, provided it's not at the cost of your own life.
  3. Weapon Swapping: Don't worry about attacking with the Warhammer in combat. Swap to it strictly for the Hammer Dash to cover ground, then instantly swap back to the Sword & Shield to engage.
