Frost Control Sorcerer

They can't kill you if they can't move. While Fire Sorcerers get the big numbers, Frost Sorcerers get the wins in PvP. This build is designed to be the ultimate kiting setup, making melee classes miserable.

1. Core Mechanics

Frost spells in Mistfall Hunter apply a stacking "Chill" effect.

  • Chill: Slows movement and attack speed by 5% per stack (max 5 stacks).
  • Freeze: If a target with 5 stacks is hit by a heavy Frost spell, they are "Frozen" solid for 2 seconds, unable to take any action.

Your goal is to maintain maximum Chill stacks on your opponents at all times.

2. Skill Loadout

Primary Weapon: Staff of Rime

Increases the duration of Chill effects and reduces the cast time of Frost spells.

Active Skills

  • Skill 1: Blizzard
    • Usage: Large AoE that persists on the ground. Applies 1 stack of Chill per second. Drop this between you and your opponent to deny space.
  • Skill 2: Ice Lance
    • Usage: A fast, low-cooldown projectile. Deals double damage and shatters targets that are fully Frozen.
  • Skill 3: Frost Nova
    • Usage: An instant point-blank AoE freeze. This is your emergency button when a Withered Knight or Shadowstrix jumps on you.

3. Best Gear & Affixes

You need Cooldown Reduction and Cast Speed to maintain the CC chain.

  1. Cooldown Reduction
  2. Cast Speed
  3. Mana Regeneration

4. PvP Tactics & The Kiting Loop

This build requires patience and excellent spacing.

  1. The Opener: Cast Blizzard directly on top of the enemy or in their path.
  2. The Poke: While they are slowed by the Blizzard, spam Ice Lance to build up Chill stacks.
  3. The Bait: An aggressive melee player will use a gap-closer (like Grappling Hook or Blink) to get past the Blizzard. Let them.
  4. The Punish: The exact moment they arrive in melee range, cast Frost Nova to instantly freeze them.
  5. The Shatter: Take a few steps back, charge a heavy attack or an Ice Lance, and hit them while frozen for massive shatter damage.
  6. Repeat: Walk away while their gap-closers are on cooldown.

It is arguably the most annoying build to play against in the game, and highly effective in 1v1 arenas.
